Island Phenomenon Celebrates Two Decades: Jubilee XX Škraping Returns to Its Roots on March 7, 2026, Bringing a Strong Humanitarian Note to Pašman

The largest international trekking race in Croatia, the unique Škraping, has officially announced its jubilee twentieth edition. The event, which has grown from local enthusiasm into a major island tourism brand, will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Tkon on the island of Pašman.

For this anniversary, the organizers have announced a return to the essence of the race – the rugged but attractive movement over sharp island limestone rocks, locally known as škrape, with a strong emphasis on the event’s humanitarian character. More than 1,500 competitors from Croatia and a dozen European countries are expected to attend, testing their strength across traditional categories adapted to various levels of physical fitness.

The royal discipline “Ultra” (approx. 45 km) is designed for experienced trail runners and those seeking an extreme challenge in spatial navigation, while the “Challenger” (approx. 25 km) offers a balance between speed and demanding terrain. For recreational athletes and those preferring a faster pace, the “Active” category (approx. 12 km) is available, while the “Light” or family category (approx. 6 km) remains the most popular route, intended for walkers, families with children, and anyone wishing to experience the views of the Kornati National Park and the Pašman Channel without competitive pressure.

This year’s jubilee Škraping is running for new life. The organizers have decided that 10% of every adult registration fee will be donated directly to the Zadar General Hospital. The funds are specifically earmarked for the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics for the purchase of an essential central monitoring system for CTG devices, thereby helping to raise the standard of care for mothers and newborns in our county.

In addition to the sports segment, Škraping retains its economic role through the Fair of Island Products, held concurrently with the race. The fair gathers holders of the prestigious “Croatian Island Product” (HOP) label, offering visitors indigenous delicacies, cosmetics, and souvenirs, thereby directly boosting the local economy outside the main tourist season.

Registrations for the jubilee XX Škraping will be available exclusively via the official platform Tracey Sport. The exact date for the opening of registrations, as well as details regarding this year’s humanitarian goal, will be published in the coming weeks on the event’s official website and social media channels.
